Description
This shawl gets its name from the Starlight Lace stitch (from Barbara Walkers’ A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns) and the traditional Shetland lace patterns I used, including the Trellis Diamond and Small Trees patterns. It is triangular and is knit from the top down with increases on every right-side row, worked at the edges and each side of the center stitch. The two halves are mirror images of each other, since Starlight Lace is not symmetrical. I made it with a hand spun lace yarn but I think it would work well for most lace to light fingering weight yarns. Warning - the pattern has not been test knitted by anyone other than myself so there may be errors. Please let me know if you find any and I will post a corrected version. Thanks. 05-26-2022 Version 2 - Added missing decreases to row 11. 07-22-2022 Version 3 - Added missing yo to row 57 in right chart 1. 08-11-2022 Version 4 -Added missing yo to row 57 in left chart 1 which I somehow managed to miss when I fixed in the the right chart. 11-08-2022 Version 5 - Right Chart 1, row 39, stitch 52 was changed to ssk and Left Chart 1, row 39, stitch 32 was changed to a k2tog. 11-15-2022 Version 6 - Changed repeated rows for a longer shawl from 209-213 to 209-231. 11-26-2022 Version 7 - Added missing decreases to Right Chart 2 (st. 52) and Left Chart 2 (st. 12).
